During my newest sister-in-law's bridal shower a few months ago, her mother leaned over to me and my mom and told us how three-year-old girls were the closest to angels as you could get. I wasn't so sure then, but Ava's comment today just completely knocked me over in its sweetness.

"Mommy, if I take my shoes off and get my feet stuck in the mud, Jesus will save me. And then I will be free."

Amen, baby girl.
